I may not have seen it but even I know they got robbed when they lost the best Mini series Emmy. 4 real Marines were going to accept the award had they won & when the people who did win were walking to the stage you caught a glimpse of those guys. It would have rocked to see THEM on stage. Emmy's you suck!

Some mini series called "Little Dorrit" never heard of it. Boo!!
On the plus side though - Kristen Chenoweth won a best supporting actresss statue for Olive in Pushing Daisies AND TB won that Breakthrough performance.

Never heard of that miniseries either, but there's NO way it was better than GK!
I heard about Kristin, because I saw that they had to call paramedics for her afterwards, but that she's fine now.

I didn't hear about that but she was in tears when on stage. I was very happy for her.

I wonder if she got more overwhelmed than she thought? Her speech was cute. Her voice kept cracking. I also didn't realize just how tiny she was until she got on stage.
I'm sorely disppointed that GK didn't win & that the Marines weren't able to get on stage to accept the award. That was a major fail on those who vote.

No kidding, that is very disappointing. I wonder if they were some of the real life Marines from the series, or just 4 random marines?
You don't mess with Marines. The voters better hope they're kept anonymous, or else they just might find Bravo Company on their doorstep wanting an explanation.

I'm not sure if they were 4 random marines or not. If you look up skarsgardnews on Twitter & sort thru their Tweets from last night they gave the names. They were in their dress uniforms looking rather snazzy. I caught a glimpse of them when the people who won best mini series were headed up to the stage for acceptance. www.twitter.com/skarsgardnews (an excellent source of all things Alex related. I follow it & that's where I get a lot of my news from lol).

What the hell is Little Dorrit and how did it win over GK? That blows.
Those Marines in the audience weren't random, they were in the series in several ways--one played himself and helped the actors learn their weapons and the lifestyle, one was a technical advisor and ended up playing another Marine in the series, and another one was a technical advisor who got along so well with the cast and crew that they created a small role for him. I am PISSED they were there and didn't win and get to go on stage.

Thank you for answering that because I wasn't sure. I am pretty ticked too. I've seen bits & pieces on Youtube & what I've seen I've liked GK a lot. I can't wait to get the opportunity to see it all. They should have been up on that stage.

When you do get to watch GK, you can spot them pretty easily (once you get everyone sorted out, that is, there are a lot of characters to keep up with!). Rudy Reyes (the one who played himself and helped the actors learn everything) is buck naked in the first episode and has the most perfect body you've ever seen. Eric Kocher ended up playing someone other than himself (he's the driver for another unit and has a few good lines and is also super cute and built like no tomorrow). Jeff Carisalez was another Marine who was originally supposed to be just a technical advisor and ended up acting in the series (during the commentary that AS and James Ransone do for episode four, they talk about how he would mercilessly rib the actors and crew).
Yeah, I loved that series and book a lot!

I'd like HBO to re-air this sometime since I missed it originally. But I think I know what I want for my birthday in December (besides Alex at my door lol).

I didn't watch the Emmys - I missed a chance to see Rudy and Eric? RATS! From what I've seen in interviews and on the DVDs they seem like awesome guys. I had a feeling it was the guys from the series, but I was hoping it might be the real Brad, Nate, and/or Ray as well.
Buckeye, if you have Netflix, you can get the DVDs that way, so that you can see the awesomeness sooner rather than later.

Nope don't have Netflix. That's an added expense we can't afford right now. So it will be easier for me to ask for it for my bday (and if not then for Christmas) which occurs in close to 2 1/2 months.
I might have to watch some more bits on Youtube again.
