I love welcome posts! Good idea!
Hi All, I'm shootingstar. Also shootingstar on the other board. I'm a writer with the crazy imagination to match and I watch way too much TV for my own good. My husband's also a TB fan who tolerates my crush (LOL), my toddler not so much!
Introduction Question: When did everyone become True Blood/Alexander/Eric fans?

Hey all, I'm JHD, known as Jacob's Hair Dye (Don't ask) on the other board. I became a TB fan about 3 weeks before S2 - marathoned S1 from On Demand. Was originally a Bill fan until the first Fangtasia scene Then I saw Alex was in Generation Kill as well, marathoned THAT, and the rest is history. I'm currently on Book 3 of the series, so I'll finally be able to a) read all the book mentions I keep seeing EVERYWHERE and b) be one of those people who say "Well in the book...." LOL I also write a little bit - I don't have patience for writing full novels , so my main thing are either drabbles or one-shots, which keep me occupied and the muse happy. And I have way too many shows - if I listed them all here, we'd be a while.

I can't remember when my fangirlness started. I think perhaps when he appeared in Bill's tub in season 1 & then it progressively grew.
As for TB I came late into the game. A friend of mine started off by asking me if there were any actual vampire bars in Shreveport because I lived there for a year. Then she told me about the show. I caught reruns of season 1 in June leading up to the season 2 premiere & got hooked IMMEDIATELY.
My husband tolerates my tv crush but he doesn't really watch the show with me. 9 times out of 10 he'll start to watch it & then 5 mins later he's sound asleep.

Hello, I'm Lupi and I just joined after seeing the post on Live Journal.
I'm a new fan of True Blood, as English TV only started showing it a matter of weeks ago. But in the last week I have caught up with every episode that has been aired in the USA. (I won't go into how, in case it's against the rules to discuss such naughtiness, but I suspect other non-Americans here will do the same thing)
I noticed Eric the first time in S1E4 in Fangtasia, but I didn't really go completely fangirl until after the haircut. His long hair looked good, but this short style really makes you want to run your fingers through it! lol
I've not read the books yet. I plan to do that once S2 is done. I reckon I can do them all before S3 begins.
Oh, and if my siggie is too big, please let me know. It's the one I use on my own Proboard forum, but I know some folk prefer them to be smaller.
Looking forward to chatting with you all ;-)

Hey there Lupi!!! Glad you could join! I chat with others from overseas about another tv show & a couple of them watch TB & watch online too to keep up with where we are at here lol so don't feel bad about it. lol
Love your sig. It looks huge to me because right now I'm at work & I can't have a full screen up since I'm not even supposed to be on the internet at all lol. Love your avatar too.

Welcome Lupi! Glad you joined. Alot of people dig his haircut - it's pretty hilarious. That wig was bad in later scenes. You remind me - I need to snaz up my account.
I don't want to do too much though. I was checking out a board last night I couldn't even read because of all the fan art/icons/pics/sigs blinking at me. Too much can be distracting.
To answer my question: I started getting into TB around the 3rd episode of season one. It was pretty easy to catch up because I had the HBO on demand on my cable. It had all the episodes plus a bunch of cool features like the whole history of vampire with various professors and authors. Good stuff.
I did not get all the Eric love from first season. I didn't dislike him or Askar but he just didn't ping my fangirl bell that much. Then after the season ended I was going to do a Sookie/Eric and Tara/Bill (I know!) fanfic. So I watched a bunch of Stephen Moyer and Alexander's stuff and - I was blown away. And a total crush was born - the U Interview is what kicked it off though. So friggin sweet and almost shy but naughty - I love that combination. I started reading and watching anything I could get my hands on. I never did finish that fanfic! My computer crashed and I lost everything and I had too much going on to start over again. I may pick it up when the season ends.
I've read up to book 8. I'm going to pick up the 9th today.

Thanks for the welcome! ;-)
Is there a link anywhere for that interview, Shootingstar? I've seen GIFs from it, but not the whole thing. I guess YouTube might be the place to search, but if you have one, it would be great.
I'll also make my sig a bit smaller. It's ok for my forum because I'm in charge and can do as I like! lol.
Are you both in the US?

It started life as a Harry Potter forum. Since the books ended however, and a lot of people drifted away, it has become a place where the handful of us who made the effort to meet up and become "real life friends" have remained to chat about what we're doing and what's happening in our lives.
Thanks for the link, going to watch it now.

Hey guys This is my first forum for TB/Alex. To answer the question, I first heard about True Blood when I flipped on HBO around Season 2, episode 2. I couldn't stop watching. I then just recently got the appeal of Eric (I know...I'm so behind)! I'm reading Book 1 right now and my boyfriend has slowly been ordering the Season 1 DVDs from Netflix for me. I'm on episode 7. So yea I'm really behind and I don't have the full story just yet, but I love it nonetheless ;D

Hiya Whit! Season 1 was great, season 2 has been kickass & glad to see you here as a part of this. Also glad to see another fellow Ohioan here too! lol
Feel free to post wherever on here. We look forward to hearing what people have to say!
As for the books, I have read book 2, I put the first 3 on hold at my local library & that was the first one to become available. So I'm reading out of order and so far it just reaffirmed my Eric love. (and as I was reading I was picturing ASkars the the whole time).

Yup definitely from Ohio. Born & raised. Didn't go to OSU though (went to UC instead) I'm kicking myself now that I should have gone by oh well! lol Still love my Buckeyes!
When you read book 2 you'll find that there are differences between what went down in Dallas there vs what happened on the show. There are some similiarities but definitely some big differenes.

Thanks for the heads up about book 2! I went to the OSU branch in Newark. Not the same as Columbus but still fun!
